J-Hoppers is the name of a hostel chain in Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka and Takayama in Japan. Since we started the business in 2002, we have always been happy to welcome travellers who are into "Japan-hopping" like you. Indeed, just between you and us, YOU are J-Hoppers, too!

Opened in Kyoto in 2002 for the budget backpack traveler. It's an 8 minute walk from JR Kyoto Station.
The building used to be a boutique. There are mixed dormitory and female dormitory, individual private rooms such as a single room, twin room, Japanese style twin room with tatami mats, and triple room.
We also have a comfortable cozy common room such as kitchen, living room, laundry and shower rooms in the hostel.
There are many important historical sites such as Toji Temple or Fushimi-Inari Shrine nearby.
The nearest bus stop is right beside the hostel, which is on the useful route to get access to other popular sightseeing places such as Kinkakuji Temple (Temple of the Golden Pavilion), Kiyomizudera Temple, Gion, Ginkakujin Temple (Temple of the Silver Pavilion) and Nijo castle and so on. Besides, the subway station is also nearby.
In addition, since we are located in the south part of Kyoto, it would be a good access to Nara. It takes only 1 hour by JR.
Opened in Hiroshima in 2006 for the budget backpack traveller. We are very close to the Peace Memorial Park and the A-Bomb Dome. Once you take a tram from JR Hiroshima station, it takes only 10 minutes to this hostel. Hiroshima castle is also in the city.
The building used to be a Japanese style Ryokan and most guest rooms are Japanese style with tatami mats. We have a mixed dormitory, female dormitory, twin room, double room and triple room. We also have a comfortable cozy common room such as kitchen, living room, laundry, rooftop, relaxing entrance and shower rooms in the hostel.
We also has good access to another World Heritage site Miyajima, which is one of the 3 most scenic spots in Japan. In Miyajima, there is The "Ohtorii” gate of Itsukushima Shrine.
Additionally, Hiroshima has a good access to other sightseeing places such as Kure with Yamato Museum, Kurashiki, Seto Inland sea with Onomichi, Iwakuni with Kintaikyo Bridge and Hagi city. Please visit the Hiroshima, the city of peace and water.
The hostel was opened in Osaka in 2008. It's just about 15 minutes walk to JR Osaka Sta., and it's just 3 minutes walk to the nearest station JR Fukushima Sta., which is just 1 stop to JR Osaka. We are located on the quiet shopping street standing lots of restaurant and bars side by side.
Sky building and one of the downtown district Kita are walking distance. Once you take the subway or the JR Loop line, you can go to another downtown district Minami including Dotonbori with funny billboards, Namba, Shinsaibashi with brand shops and fashionable shopping shops, Nipponbashi with electronic shopping street and fish market. And off course there are lots of enjoyable Bars and Clubs in this area.
Osaka Castle, Universal Studio Japan, Tsutenkaku and Kaiyukan (aquarium) would be other places to visit.

Osaka has also a good access to Kansai Airport (1 hour ), Nara, Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, and could be a terminal point for these sightseeing places.
The hostel was opened in Hida Takayama in May, 2009. It's just 3 min walk from JR Takayama station. A formar Ryokan was remodeled to a Japanese style Hostel.
There are various type of common rooms in the hostel such as TV room, Japanse style living room and hideout-dining room. We have 2 types of mixed dormitories, a female dormitory, twin room, double room, triple room and quad room. There are some of ensuite type private rooms, too.
One type of dorm room is equipped with timbered roomy dorm beds with private curtain which you get a comfortable sleep.
Not only Old private house, but also a thatched roof known as "gassho-zukuri," in Shirakawago and Hot Spring in Hirayu and Gero would be must-see toursit sights. Ski and hiking could also be activities nearby.
Takayama is also well-known place for traditional crafts. On San-machi-suji ave in Takayama city is lined with stores selling the traditional wares and craftman's workshop.
